About Scotty

Confessions of a Jesus Freak

Scott deBeaubien (Scotty) is married to Cheryl.  We are very much in love, and we love Jesus.  He is the center of our lives.  We believe that a life lived with Him at the center is a life that’s on the right path.  Becoming more like Jesus is a daily goal, so it’s more of a journey than a destination. We believe in building relationships with others so that together we can have an impact on our world.

By definition my belief makes me a Conservative, but I also think of myself as a “Free Thinker.”  I have lots of ideas about this world, the evil, the greed and the corruption have made it so that most of us must struggle through our daily lives with barely a chance to look up or look away from our daily difficulties.  Therefore, we must be intentional about seeing this World for what it is, and for believing that Jesus is really all we need, and that the “things” in this world are just things, not to be desired or sought after.

At the same time, we should cherish each other.  Remember one of Kimo’s rules, “The best things in life are not things.”  That’s a pretty good philosophy if you ask me.  So, we need each other, we need to love each other, help each other and try to lift each other up, rather than step all over each other trying to claw our way to some mythical “top” of the heap.  The only thing that’s up there at the top of the supposed heap is a bunch of corruption and greed and politics that would probably make most of us puke.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not wrong to own a bunch of stuff or to be wealthy, it’s just wrong to put that in front of everything else – that’s all.  So, be happy with what you have, “Seek first the Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”  (Matthew 6:33)

God Bless you!

  1. This is the precise weblog for anyone who wants to find out about this topic. You notice so much its virtually laborious to argue with you (not that I truly would need…HaHa). You definitely put a new spin on a topic thats been written about for years. Nice stuff, simply great!

  2. Pretty good post. I just stumbled upon your blog and wanted to say that I have really enjoyed reading your blog posts. Anyway I’ll be subscribing to your feed and I hope you post again soon.

  3. I just wanted to comment and say that I really enjoyed reading your blog post here. It was very informative and I also digg the way you write! Keep it up and I’ll be back to read more in the future

  4. I can’t believe what I’m reading. Sound like the same guy that ripped me off of 3,300 when I purchased some trumpets from him. Saddest thing that ever happened to me., I have over 100 emails regarding the failed transactions with some named Jeff Morrow that sounds like him.

  5. Hi Scott! I think I saw you at the pier to pier Sunday but wasn’t sure. I was there with my brother Tom Martin. Then when we checked results you were there! So if you saw an old lady in a full wetsuit staring at you that was me, Terri. Nice that you have ended up back home! I hope all is well with you. I think back fondly on times in m.b. sadly, I am not in touch with anyone. I should fix that! Cheers! Terri Martin Romine
