“By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.”
Does it make more sense to believe (have faith) that the Universe was created by a “Supreme being” instead of saying that “Somehow, spontaneously, one moment there was nothing and then suddenly everything popped into being all at once from nowhere.” ?
I was raised to believe in evolution, only after becoming a Christian did I understand the evil behind such a system of rationalizations. At the end of it, evolution is about putting man in charge. We are the “Top of the heap” the ultimate end of evolution, since we are “Homo sapiens” (thinking man) and can study and understand everything around us. Well, almost everything. Science cannot explain miracles, nor can it explain love. And it sure as heck has a rotten explanation for how the Universe came into being!
The simple fact is too, that the Universe had a very definite beginning, and will have a very definite end. Even Stephen Hawking believes that. The only question is, when it ends, where will you be? Is there truly more than can be perceived by just our senses? Is God somewhere “Out there” beyond what we can see, touch, taste, hear and smell? Is the spiritual realm real?
