America, as a nation, sits now under judgement. We have abandoned the “Rule of Law” (in 1973 with the Roe v. Wade decision on abortion) and are no longer seeking to follow our God as a people.
There were many who sat silent on the sidelines when Roe v. Wade was passed, and others like me, who were too young, too stupid to know better (I was saved in 1994). But as Bonhoeffer said:
“Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.”
We are all guilty now, all held under judgement for failing to stop the tumultuous slide into the pit, down into moral depravity. So, like Paul said in Romans 1, we are “Given over to the depraved mind.” Our culture no longer even recognizes the God of the Universe, and especially not His Son Jesus Christ.
The slide will continue now with churches being attacked, the Bible declared “Hate speech” and actual legal consequences for those who dare to go against the “State” (read that as an Orwellian version of Fascism) similar but much worse than we’ve seen with Christians refusing to bake cakes for gay weddings and so forth. Sexual immorality will not only be paraded in the media now, it will become the “Norm” in our culture, and our young people will be subjected to an endless stream of filth that makes what we have today look tame.
Jesus is indeed, our only hope. But the “Church” as we knew it in America is dead. The new church will be an underground, counter-culture church.
We praise God in the good times, and in the bad. Praise God for who He is, praise Him for His provision and His goodness. Praise Jesus. Praise His Holy Name.
