Ninety-Five Reasons

Saw an article today:

My response:

Folks gotta understand, these types of behaviors were exactly the reason why Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the door of the Wittenburg Cathedral.

The “Split” in the church was first and foremost about the role of grace in salvation.  The church had gotten as bad as the Jews in First Century Palestine, where they depended on a system of “Traditions” and religious practices in order to determine salvation.  Luther, amongst others of his time, realized that this was neither the teaching of the Bible (God’s Word) nor of Jesus Himself.

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”    – John 14:6

Salvation is not through works, or through indulgences, or through ritual practices or any other means than by grace alone, and then it is God’s grace.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”  – Ephesians 2:8-9

God alone determines who is “Born again”, i.e., who gets a do-over.

The Catholic church continues its faltering steps towards the end of history in a pathetic attempt to appease men by joining in all kinds of sinful practices and condoning them in order to continue, and indeed justify its existence.

I pray somebody will see this and realize, before it’s too late, that they are on a path towards destruction and will seek out Jesus while He may be found.  Only in Him is there salvation.  Find a church where they teach Jesus is Lord, where they teach what the Bible says is true and right and good, and that it is God’s Word, given to us because it contains the true message of salvation.  That is my prayer today.

For Jesus!
