Holocaust Remembrance

My comments:

Many in our world want us to believe that we are somehow getting “Better.” That the world is improving, and that “Evolution” is causing us to become stronger, smarter, and whatever. Unfortunately, quite the opposite is true. In the 20th Century, more people were killed in wars, than in all of history – COMBINED – prior to that. In the 20th Century, more people were killed in Genocides than in all of history – COMBINED – prior to that. In the 20th Century, more Christians were martyred for their faith than all 1800 years prior to that – COMBINED.

While these are all startling and perhaps horrifying, let me give you the final kicker: In the 20th Century, more babies were killed by abortion than all those other numbers – COMBINED.

The sad truth is that we are getting worse. Technology has only made us better at killing, dominating and enslaving people in mass numbers.

Only the Bible predicted all this accurately, that evil would continue – unabated – until the end, when it would suddenly get very bad, as the “Man of lawlessness” was released. Fortunately, we are not doomed, as many would think. Jesus still provides the answer: His sacrificial death on the cross at Calvary, followed by His miraculous resurrection provide the answer to the question as to whether God really does love us. He loved us enough to die for us, even though we are evil and despicable and are making a miserable mess out of our world.
