Is this really a red letter date or not? As the Internet grows, there are growing pains. Considering we had the largest cyber-attack ever last week (a DDOS style attack with roughly 60% more volume than the largest previous attack) I think it’s evolving quite rapidly. I tell people all the time lawlessness is increasing exponentially on the Internet, it’s just that most folks (99.9% of them) don’t ever see it, so they aren’t convinced it’s happening. But it is. During that DDOS attack last week, there were literally millions of attacks happening every second. That was just one attack.
When you add that together with all the port scans, overflow attempts, hackers trying to crack passwords, packet sniffing, tracing, re-routing, hacking of DNS servers, other DOS attacks, not to mention the oldest trick in the book: The “Inside” job, you must realize the number of cyber-attacks daily is in the trillions at least now. The Firewalls I monitor report to me tens of thousands of attacks per day on those alone, and that’s just a couple of the millions and millions of Firewalls out there!
My take, is the “Man of Lawlessness” will soon be revealed. I won’t speculate as to who it might be. Many folks have already said it’s one person or another, and many of those folks have come and gone. There has always been the “Spirit of Antichrist” in the world, since Jesus was here the first time. The next big evil that I have noticed as I’ve looked at history is antisemitism. To me – it’s an irrational hatred or fear, and I can’t even tell you what causes it! Why do folks hate Jewish people? After all, Jesus was Jewish, he just didn’t “Fit in” to the model of what the rulers of the Jewish people at the time thought their Messiah should be, so they didn’t accept him. But they will… at least a good portion of them will.
And, as I read in my Bible this morning in Romans 11:25-26 –
“I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in, 26 and in this wayall Israel will be saved.” (NIV)
ALL Israel will be saved. Did you get that? All! They really are the “Chosen” people, made ready for a specific purpose: Not that they are better or will ever be better than the rest of us, but they were chosen to be the forbears of the Messiah, through whom salvation would come to us all! Hallelujah!
So, take heart. This world is going to pass away. Facebook may be up or it may be down, but that doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world. Not usually at least.
God bless you my friends!
