Chik-fil-a

From AFA Citizen Link:

On Monday, CitizenLink reported that former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is organizing Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day on Aug. 1 as a way to counteract the boycott being organized by same-sex marriage activists.

After posting about the event on his official Facebook page, Huckabee created a public Facebook invitation, letting people know they could participate either by showing up at a local Chick-fil-A franchise or participating online. By midday today, the page had received approximately 100,000 “likes.”

Shortly after that, however, the invitation disappeared. A CitizenLink search for “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day” on the site turned up only a franchise’s “Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A Savannah Mall,” held July 13. However, a page calling for a “same-sex kiss-in” at Chick-fil-A outlets nationwide on Aug. 3 remains.

So, now the question is, what do we do about it?  It’s been all over the news that the controversy surrounding the founder of Chik-fil-a’s comments about “Gay Marriage” has grown into a political issue in this election year.  Well, I for one have just this to say to folks like Mayor Rahm Emmanuel:  “If you think that keeping folks who exercise their free speech from doing business in your town is a good thing, then you are a despot.  You are the one trying to decide what’s right and wrong, and you are trying to be like God.  Our freedom in this country means that we can say whatever we please, anytime, anyplace, and if you don’t like it, that’s too bad for you.”

I can pray in public, preach in public, proselytize in public, protest abortion in public, read the Bible in public, in fact, I can even tell you that you’ll go to hell without Jesus as your Lord and Savior.  In the absence of a saving relationship with Jesus Christ, there is no hope for you.  Maybe you just forgot those things and wanted a few ultra-liberal votes from folks who think that gay marriage is a good thing.  Well, I got more news for you, letting gay people “Marry” is an affront to God, and signals that our society has become sufficiently depraved that we will believe anything is OK.  When all beliefs are equal, then in reality nothing is wrong, and nothing is right.  People can be led by targeted rhetoric to believe everything is permissible.

At that point, it’s the blind leading the blind – both will fall into a hole.  The longer I’m in this world, the more I realize I’m not part of it, and how much it disgusts me.  At least those who think they run it.  I’m glad that in reality they are a very small part of the world, and that Christianity is thriving everywhere except in Post-modern America and Europe.  I’m just passing through, my real home is Heaven.  I’m Heaven bound, Heaven bound, Heaven bound.  Jesus is my guide, the Holy Spirit is my teacher.  The Holy Father gives us power to live a life that’s different.  I’m satisfied, satisfied, satisfied to know, that my life is on the narrow road, and He is all I need.  For Your glory Jesus.

  1. We got to Chik-fil-a (our closest one is about 4 miles, or 15 minutes in rush-hour traffic) to find long lines, especially for the drive-through. We were able to park though, and go inside where the lines were about 10 minutes long. We waited about 15 more minutes in the “Waiting area” with a bunch of other folks, all of whom expressed solidarity with the Chik-fil-a founder’s statement that marriage is “One man, one woman. Period.” We most of us were standing for righteousness and the principles of goodness as expressed in the Bible. I’m sure it was Chik-fil-a’s busiest day ever, probably doubling any other previous record sales! I hope so!
