At a time when most Americans are still trying to recover from the last spike in gas prices that triggered the biggest meltdown in Real Estate in recent history, now we’re faced with idiots at the EPA who’ve decided that we cannot drill in Alaska!
I’m just appalled. Oil prices are being speculated upwards at record pace, on par with the crisis of 2005/2006 and we’re sitting here forced to be reliant upon foreign oil. These guys in the EPA are holding a knife to all our throats threatening us and forcing us to shift monies towards fuel that would otherwise be used for something else. And, contrary to what anybody says, rising fuel prices are what lead to rising food prices and possible rampant inflation throughout the economy.
We must drill!
CNN had an article on drilling today as well:
The problem the person has who wrote this article is they didn’t listen to themselves:
“The problem is this: While increased oil and gas drilling in the United States may create good-paying jobs, reduce reliance on foreign oil and lower the trade deficit, it will have hardly any impact on gas and oil prices.”
I say that causing improvements in 3 out of 4 major areas in our economy is a WIN and that’s what we’re really interested in here is to create jobs, and reduce reliance on foreign oil! It will also, the author writes later on, put about $150B back into Government coffers because of the tax revenues from the oil, the jobs, and so forth. I say that makes it a TREMENDOUS win! Why don’t these idiots listen to themselves?
